UPDATE: PUBLIC TRANSPORT DURING LOCKDOWN

For those in the Darwin, Palmerston and Darwin rural areas impacted by lockdown, you can still access public transport (including buses, taxi and ride-sharing), to undertake any of the five allowable reasons to leave home.

Masks are essential for all activities outside the home, and you must keep you mask securely over your nose and mouth at all times while in transit.

The COVID-19 lockdown across the Greater Darwin Area will be extended for a further 72 hours until 1pm on Friday 2 July 2021.

For everyone in the lockdown area, masks must be worn if you leave your place of residence.

You can only leave your residence for one of these five reasons:

1. Medical treatment, including COVID testing or vaccination

2. For essential goods and services, like groceries and medications

3. For work that is considered essential

4. For one hour of outdoor exercise a day within 5 km from your home with one other person or people from your house

5. To provide care and support to a family member or person who cannot support themselves.

One new positive case of COVID-19 has been recorded in the Territory. The man was infectious in the Darwin community for 36 hours. He is now in quarantine at Howard Springs.

If you attended this site, you and your household MUST self-isolate at home for the next 14 days.

CASUAL CONTACT EXPOSURE SITES

BWS store on Parap Road, Friday 25th June 4 PM to 4:10 PM

Bunnings on Bagot Road, Saturday 26th June 10 AM to 10:15 AM

If you attended these sites, you must immediately isolate until you receive a negative COVID test.

LOW-RISK EXPOSURE SITE

Darwin Airport, Friday 25th June, 1:30 PM to 3:35 PM

If you attended this site, you are advised to monitor symptoms, and isolate and get tested if symptoms arise.

The NT Deputy Chief Health Officer has confirmed we are dealing with the Delta variant of COVID-19.
