NT Wide Indoor Mask Mandate
Today, the Government announced the NT Wide Indoor Mask Mandate will cease on Monday 7th March, 2022 – effective at 12:01am. Masks will continue to be compulsory in high-risk areas – such as hospitals and health care, aged care, correctional and disability residential facilities. In line with the federal rules, masks will still be required in airports and on flights. Outside of high-risk settings, people will no longer have to wear a mask, unless they choose to do so. Mask-wearing when you cannot maintain a distance of 1.5 meters from others continues to be strongly recommended – but not compulsory.More information on the Big Rivers Region will be released later in the week as it is not yet seeing the same downward trend as other regions.
The Territory Check-In App From now on, the Territory Check-In app will only be required when visiting venues that require proof of vaccination, such as licensed venues including bars, pubs and restaurants, excluding takeaway. Alerts will still be issued notifying people that they may have been exposed to COVID. Non-licensed businesses may continue displaying the check-in information, and patrons may continue to check-in, but it is no longer necessary.
