SENIORS HAVE ALL THE FUN THESE DAYS…….THEY EVEN GET THEIR OWN EXPO!COTA CREATED THE EXPO TO BRING PEOPLE TOGETHER – TO FOSTER COMMUNITY CONNECTIONSIT’S A HUGE EVENT WITH FREE FITNESS SESSIONS, FASHION, MUSIC, FOOD FUN AND IF COURSE 1041 ONE LIVE FROM 9AM! THIS YEAR DUE TO OUR AGE WE MIGHT TRY SOME TAI CHI!
The stadium’s full-sized indoor netball courts will be put to full use with one court acting as a community stage and two full courts dedicated to stalls. Entry includes a free community barbecue and light morning tea, served in COVID-friendly boxes.
Heap of activities including free calligraphy demonstrations, CPR participation (on mannikins), watching quilting demonstrations, getting an insight into bridge, browsing artwork, crafts and books for sale, playing table tennis, entering raffles from the Bendigo Bank, the Lions Club and Darwin Table Tennis, reading the latest Seniors Voice, Seniors Month Calendar and NEW Seniors Card Discount Directory, spinning the prize wheel and picking up free show bags and giveaways from many of the stall holders including free ‘Super Ageing’ exercise classes.
“This is our seventh Seniors Expo in Darwin and we are thrilled that so many of our Club and Associate Members have supported the event once again and are turning out in force to share vital information with seniors in the community,” said Sue Shearer, CEO of COTA NT. “It’s the best opportunity of the year for the public to meet and connect with service providers, businesses and seniors’ groups and it’s an excellent start to what promises to be an exciting and jam-packed Seniors Month this August.
