A US security guard was shocked to find something rather strange hidden inside a travellers checked luggage after it appeared on the x-ray scanner.

A ginger tabby stow-away was discovered inside checked luggage after an agent from JFK Airport spotted some orange fur poking out of the suitcase zip.

The travelling owner of the bag was was not aware that he had a cat in his luggage, as it turns out, the cat was not actually his and belonged to someone else in his household.

The bag had been checked-in and x-rayed and the cat in question was entirely un-fazed by the whole experience, acting like nothing had happened.

On Twitter, the TSA had a bit of fun with the find.

“We’re letting the cat out of the bag on a hiss-toric find,” it tweeted. “This CATch had our baggage screening officers @JFKairport saying, ‘Come on meow!’ Feline like you have travel questions reach out to our friends @AskTSA.”

Here’s a picture of accidental stowaway, “Smells”, posing for the camera.
