CALLING ALL TEDDY’S
Written by TFM on 01/08/2023
Darwin’s favourite fun day for the whole family is here again on the Esplanade on Sunday the 13th of August from 9am as part of the Darwin Festival
Of course we’re talking about the Teddy Bears Picnic!!
Check out the line up for this years fabulous event!
At 9.15am get set for a dynamic adventure in Junklandia. These out-of-this-world musical misfits repurpose the junk the world has forgotten in a spectacle of rhythm, dance, circus and comedy.
Make a costume from recycled materials, bring a well-loved toy for the toy swap and something like a bucket or shaker to make some noise to create a recycled instrument.
This is your chance to be part of one-of-a-kind junkyard band to end this high-octane show!
We’ll be led on our recycle journey through the day by MCs Sparkle and Debarkle, wowed with magic from Hyper the Clown, shown displays of grace from Darwin School of Ballet, rapped with heart felt tunes by Yello and led in a didgeridoo (mägo) and dance workshop with Adam Yates.
Of course – 104One will be there hanging out with all the Big and Little Ted’s so make sure you come and say Hi to us and grab some free merch while you’re at it!!!
You’ll also be able to check out the range of other stalls there on the day, munch on some yummy treats, get your face painted and of course be delighted by performances on our main stage and throughout the parkland.
Bring the whole family – and don’t forget your favourite cuddly toy!
Get down to the Esplanade Darwin city on Sunday the 13th from 9am!
