Cat on a leash!

DARWIN council passed a new Cat Containment Policy last night, which says pet cats will only be allowed outside a property boundary if they are on a leash.

The council voted to amend its Animal Management Policy which requires domestic cats be contained to the property boundaries of their usual home at all times, unless under effective control (on a leash).

Darwin Lord Mayor Kon Vatskalis said the policy will help to protect native wildlife.
