Mental health continues to rate as the number one most important issue for Northern Territory young people for the third consecutive year, according to Mission Australia’s Youth Survey Report 2019, closely followed by alcohol and drugs.
In 2019, the issues considered most important by young people in Australia today were mental health (36.2%), closely followed by one third of respondents reporting the environment (34.2%) and one quarter citing equity and discrimination (24.8%). This is the third year running that mental health has been cited as the top national issue for young people.
