Dr Danko E-Cigs

E-cigarettes are almost twice as effective as nicotine gums and patches for quitting smoking, according to a major clinical trial from the Queen Mary University of London. The only other trial to properly test e-cigarettes against nicotine patches showed low effectiveness, but this was done years ago with devices that are now obsolete. “This is a game changer in terms of what we know about e-cigarettes,” said Dr Attila Danko, GP and Australian e-cigarette expert. “We know now, from the highest level of evidence, that modern vaping really works in helping people quit smoking long term. Importantly, they stayed off smoking for at least 12 months. This evidence will give doctors more confidence to recommend e-cigarettes to their patients who struggle with quitting.”
